The latest restoration project is a U.S. Zone Germany Distler Packard. Dates from the 50s. Wind up toy- steerable front wheels, start/stop lever, Has three forward gears, neutral, and reverse.
When I got it, it was missing the tires, spare, a couple of broken-off tabs, some rust, a few dents, motor frozen up but otherwise in good condition.
These go for up to about $300. More if in original condition with box.

Battery operated Linemar toy, probably from the 50s or early 60s. The telephone rings. Bear picks it up and chats for a while nodding, ( noise like someone talking on other end of phone ) Hangs up and writes in red light “Magic Marxie” on his pad.
I had to buy a parts toy for fur, red light bracket, and desktop.
A mint one in box would probably bring $400. This one, maybe $200.

About 1928 the Metalcraft Co. put out kits that, like Erector sets, bolted together. The basic plane was Lindbergh’s “Spirit of St. Louis”, but the kit would build 25, including a trimotor. It had a lousy zinc plate coating on the .040? thick heavy metal parts, which today has turned rather drab and ratty.
I got this specimen , which was in great shape as you can see, but was missing the whole undercarriage. Now to see if we can get it to fly! Right…
