About 1928 the Metalcraft Co. put out kits that, like Erector sets, bolted together. The basic plane was Lindbergh’s “Spirit of St. Louis”, but the kit would build 25, including a trimotor.  It had a lousy zinc plate coating on the .040? thick heavy metal parts, which today has turned rather drab and ratty.

I got this specimen , which was in great shape as you can see, but was missing the whole undercarriage.  Now to see if we can get it to fly! Right…
